Foreword

The Foreword from the book
Women: Living Life on Purpose

was written by Mark Wright,
her loving husband

What you’re about to read could have easily been a business success book – the principles and approaches that are brought to life in these pages can easily apply to achieving success in the global business market. But it’s not. It’s about something far more important with far greater value . . . building a successful home that provides a stable foundation for work, education, character, ministry, living. Our country has a rich history formed by men and women that were products of strong families, instilled with Godly character, filled with the vision and strength of God’s plan for their lives. There is just as strong a need today – and I’m convinced it’s only possible with the same foundation of a strong family with each member fulfilling their God ordained roles.

So just who is this book for, anyway? It is not for the faint of heart. It is squarely aimed at mothers whose longing is to fit into God’s plans and invest themselves in making their family and themselves successful. It is full of hope and challenge. It is not some great theoretical work that has not been through the test of real life. This is a true story providing compelling insight into my dear wife’s journey from business and worldly success to a far greater place.

  • It’s for the working mother with that subtle tugging in her heart to invest more in her children and husband than she is able to do with a very full and hectic schedule.
  • It’s for the stay-at-home mom looking for a way to cope with the myriad of issues that surround that rare situation including loneliness or sense of low value. (I just attending a briefing on Flexible Work Arrangements at my company where they quoted the statistic that only 4% of families in the United States have the traditional arrangement of father working, mother staying at home, and children attending school.)
  • It’s for the single parent struggling to make the right choices in a very difficult (read that un-Godly) world.
  • It’s for the woman who wants to be a mother but hasn’t been blessed with children yet.

I must warn you – you will most likely be conflicted from the very first chapter. It is not a subtle book. Be prepared to have your world turned upside down. I’ve read this entire book through at least five times in it’s six years of existence, and it continues to be fresh and new each time I read it. While it will challenge your thinking, upset your perspective on the world, or even make you mad, it will also provide hope – a path to success. An approach to get in tune with God’s plan for your life. But in the end, it’s your choice. God’s plan for Kym’s life is not identical to God’s plan for your life. But I have a sincere hope that reading about her journey and see what God has done in her life will open your heart to hearing what God’s plan is for your life and the life of your family. God be with you as you choose to live life on purpose.
